OK so I think this might just be THE most exciting brand project I’ve worked on in the six years since The Pink House launched so please forgive me if I’m a little high pitched!
Because partnering up with DFS (the UK’s biggest sofa retailer and manufacturer no less) and my buddy Katie Woods (of @comedowntothewoods Insta-fame) to design a range of SIX (one for each year of The Pink House) patterned armchairs, named The Pattern Project, has been a collab made in interiors heaven.
The project kicked off in February 2020…what could possibly go wrong?!?!
Yep. Good old Covid stopped play - but only for a little while, as we were all determined to make The Pattern Project happen, global pandemic notwithstanding. When it came to choosing a theme for the range, Katie and I decided to draw on those feelings and emotions that have gotten us all through these very difficult times (we decided against a range of swear-word or gin-inspired designs…). And so we named the chairs CONNECT, HOPE, PLAY, KIND, DREAM and CALM, and set to work searching for inspiration for the patterns and working on colour schemes and cushion designs.
The result is a beautiful collection of chairs and matching cushions that I’m incredibly proud of. These are chairs that offer something for everyone, no matter your style, which room you’re furnishing, or how you want to feel when you sit in them. Unless you want to feel sad - we can’t help you with that!
When it comes to choosing your favourite, however, you might need a little help - after all each one is fabulous in its own right. The images in this blog post should help inform your decision (more pics below), but it would be madness to choose a chair without first ensuring it suits your personality…bring on the all-important quiz and do let me know your results…!
