There was only one possible venue for the launch party of my first book, Pink House Living, and that was sketch in London’s Mayfair. Not only is sketch quite possibly THE most iconically pink venue in the entire world, but it features in my book, alongside an interview with the designer of sketch’s all-pink Gallery room, India Mahdavi. So when sketch agreed to host my party (hashtag gift) in their also-exceedingly-pink Parlour room, I knew I needed to ensure the rest of the party lived up to the venue.
Luckily, pink booze help was at hand in the form of my favourites: Pinkster Gin and Mirabeau rosé wine from Provence. Sketch provided the most perfectly pink macaroons. Florist of dreams Hayford & Rhodes swooped in and conjured up the most incredible gold urn overflowing with pink blossom. Bobbi Brown sent amazing make-up artist Amalie to sort out my face, and pretty pots of pink blush for the goody bags. Other goodie bag fillers included pink beauty products from Sara Miller London, pink paint from Mylands, bespoke Pink House Living biscuits from Cracking Cakes, pink neon wall stars from Nutmeg Studio, and the must-have pink-and-red Strong Girls Club pop sockets from Mutha.Hood. Oh, and Pinkster threw in (not literally - they’re made of glass) some mini Gin Jams for that morning-after hair-of-the-pink-dog breakfast…
Around 150 completely fabulous guests came to drink and chat, listen to me answer pink-related questions put to me by my great friend, journalist Kate Faithfull-Williams, buy books, and marvel at the stunning venue (and the sight of the Pink House Husband in his pink suit). It was a completely excellent evening. A huge pink THANK YOU to everyone involved! Here are some more pics from the night:
